Sag calculator
Calculate free sag and rider sag for the front and rear. Enter three measurements. The calculator gives you the result, what it means and how it can affect the bike when riding.
Enter your measurements
Choose the riding type first, then enter the measurements in millimetres. The enduro and motocross values are guideline starting points.

Rear shock / rear sag
Fork / front sag
What do the terms mean?
Free sag (static sag) is the sag without a rider. Rider sag (race sag) is the sag with the rider on the bike in riding gear.
Pro tip on preload
Adding preload does not actually make the spring stiffer, but it raises the bike and reduces sag. The feel can still get harsher because the bike rides at a different point in its travel.
Three measurements are enough
A – bike on a stand
Lift the bike so the end you are measuring is fully unloaded. Measure a fixed point, for example from the axle to the fender.
B – bike on its own weight
Put the bike on the ground without a rider. Bounce the suspension lightly and let it settle. Measure the same point again.
C – rider in gear on the bike
The rider gets on the bike in a normal riding position. A helper measures the same point once more.
We help with suspension setup
If the sag values do not fall into place or the bike still feels odd, it may be the wrong spring rate, a service need or the internal damping setup.
